Everton could go with the back three of Keane, Godfrey and Holgate

Defence:

Central defence: Michael Keane

Even though Everton kept a clean sheet last time around, it wasn’t a commanding performance from Michael Keane. He was decent and got better as the game progressed but did not reach the level that we have become accustomed to from him. Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son will pose threat to Everton goal and Keane will have to negate them along with his central defence partners.

Central defence: Mason Holgate

Mason Holgate played a cameo in midfield but eventually switched to his favoured central defence position after Mina’s injury last game. He looks more comfortable in the back three and has excelled in this setup. Holgate has a good passing range which he has showcased in the previous games.

Central defence: Ben Godfrey

Ben Godfrey was arguably the best central defender the last time around and now he has become an integral part of the Everton defence. When the Toffees go with a back four, the central defence partnership of Keane and Godfrey is likely to edge out the rest of the combinations. Godfrey’s pace and power will be important in dealing with Kane.
