Allan

It was another energetic and disciplined performance from the Brazilian in the heart of midfield winning the ball and using it constructively. He is a key player for the Blues to build around and his recent return is proving crucial to the team, especially without Abdoulaye Doucoure.

7/10

Andre Gomes

Gomes was decent enough and tidy alongside Allan without again pulling up any tress as always. He looks very composed and comfirmtable on the ball but ever since that Spurs injury he doesn’t create enough and seems unable any longer to drive forward effectively with it. I don’t know if he has a future at the club and he might be moving on in the summer.

6/10

James Rodriguez

The Colombian had a distinctly average game and he struggled to get enough good quality ball especially in the final third where he is obviously most effective. Rodriguez is a hugely talented player but I’m still not sure how he best fits into this team.

5/10

Gylfi Sigurdsson

The Iceland playmaker was relatively quiet and his best moment was the free-kick that bounced off the bar in the second half. With him playing alongside Rodriguez and Gomes, Everton lack pace and runners form midfield and it does leave them looking pedestrian at times.
