It’s that old familiar one again as fresh reports coming from Italy claim Turin giants Juventus are increasing their interest in bringing Moise Kean back from Everton.

I think there should be a special category of ‘transfer rumour fatigue’ specifically for Moise Kean and the endless stories of his moves away from Everton!

Now comes yet another report saying that the Serie A club want to bring the Italian striker back to Turin this summer.

Kean has been constantly linked in recent months with either a return to his homeland or with staying in France with PSG where he has been enjoying a successful loan spell this season.

Based on media reports though, the French champions seem to have cooled their interest a bit recently, perhaps since Mauricio Pochettino took over as manager..?

Anyway whatever the truth there, apparently Juve are still keen to bring their former player back and end his unhappy and unsuccessful eighteen month stay at Goodison Park.

Once again the idea seems to be a swap deal in which Kean would return to Italy and that old favourite of the media’s, Adrien Rabiot comes in this direction.

More from Prince Rupert's Tower

Well we’ve obviously covered this one extensively and while it does appear very likely that Kean will be heading out of the door at Everton, it’s far from certain whether such a deal is realistic or the right one for the Toffees.

Carlo Ancelotti knows and likes Rabiot, but then that’s true of alot of players linked with the Blues, and at his best he is very good defensive midfielder.

The Frenchman would certainly add steel and class to the midfield but there have been persistent question marks about his attitude, which is perhaps why Juventus are prepared to allow such a talented player to go.

With Jean-Phillipe Gbamin again hurt and missing now until next season having literally only just returned from almost a year and a half out, the club do face a little bit of a dilemma as to whether they need to go and buy another central midfielder this summer. So I suppose a swap if this kind would at least save them the cost of buying such a player.

As I say Rabiot is a fine footballer but I’m wondering whether Everton need to think about another type of player if they are thinking of strengthening their options in this area of the team.

That might be a player like Pape Sarr who is young and a little raw perhaps but a talented and athletic midfielder who would add just the kind of drive and energy more of which is still needed in the Toffees engine room.
