LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND – MAY 01: Allan of Everton controls the ball under pressure from Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa during the Premier League match between Everton and Aston Villa at Goodison Park on May 01, 2021 in Liverpool, England. Sporting stadiums around the UK remain under strict restrictions due to the Coronavirus Pandemic as Government social distancing laws prohibit fans inside venues resulting in games being played behind closed doors. Allan

Everton’s Brazilian midfield enforcer was excellent once more showing his class and determination to push his team-mates to win the game. He looked frustrated at the end of the match understandably and it’s abundantly clear he urgently needs help in the engine room.

8/10

Andre Gomes

The Portuguese midfielder had another really poor and frustrating match and failed to have any concrete influence on the game. His form has never recovered at all from the Spurs injury in Novermber 2019 and his future is uncertain.

3/10

Alex Iwobi

With the anouncement just before the game that James Rodriguez was unable to play so Iwobi got another late chance to play. He was awful offering nothing and giving the ball away regularly there seems no future for him at the club.

2/10

Gylfi Sigurdsson

Sigurdsson also struggled last night to have any affect on the match although he had a few half chances and one moment when instead of shooting he flicked the ball back and lost possession. That summed up his and Everton’s error-filled efforts.
