Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti has been talking about exactly what type of attacking player he is looking to sign this summer.
It’s clear and plain to see that Everton desperately need to improve their often anemic attack, which has sometimes, especially at critical times, spluttered and failed to deliver this season.
The Toffees have become over reliant on the goals of Dominic Calvert-Lewin who has had his best season in terms of goals with sixteen this season.
This is important because Richarlison’s goal return has significantly declined this term and apart from James Rodriguez who netted six times, there have been few other goalscorers.
And the right hand side of the team has been a constant source of weakness overall with injuries to full-back Seamus Coleman and the lack of a natural right-winger in front of him hurting the team’s balance and effectivness, all season.
Now Ancelotti has been setting out the criteria he is using to find the sort of attacking player he wants to bring in during this summer’s transfer window.
The manager wants a player who can cross the ball consistently (that would of course be nice!) scores goals and will work hard and defend effectively. Not much then!

So who best fits that profile among potential players that Everton might be able to bring in?
Well I know I keep on about him but Domenico Beradi pefectly fits that profile.
He is a superb attacking player who has been consistently outstanding over the past few seasons and has had another very productive campaign with sixteen goals and six assists in Serie A. That goal tally is impressive and would be exactly what this goal-shy team needs.
He’s also a very good defensive player too who is happy to track back, cover and support his full-back and can play in that position as well if needed.
In addition, he’s left-footed but plays on the right, which is exactly what the Blues top brass are looking for and at 26 is just approaching his peak so would surely have further sell-on value in a few years time if needed.
He would also probably be more realistic a target and more affordable than some of the other names mentioned like Leon Bailey. Put him in front of a full-back like Emerson and Everton could have a superb right side next season.
So if Ancelotti is looking for a wide player who can meet all that criteria he’s mentioned, then I think he should look no further than Beradi.
