Barcelona are looking to sell Philippe Coutinho

Barcelona are going into a revolutionary summer with big squad clearout expected from new President Joan Laporta. Several outcasts who do not fit in the system and are pocketing hefty wages will be offloaded to trim the wage bill and make room for new signings. Players like Philippe Coutinho could be shown the exit door and Everton could capitalize on such a situation.

Everton fans will be synonymous with Coutinho who spent five years in Merseyside, albeit on the red side. He was one of Liverpool’s best creative players and often amazed with his skills and nimble footwork. The Brazilian made a move of his dreams to Barcelona but it has turned into a nightmare.

Coutinho remains a dysfunctional liability to the team just not able to flourish under any manager or system. Injuries further depreciated his confidence and left him in a deplorable space. Barca had to break the bank to sign the Liverpool wizard but after three years it appears all the money has gone down the drain.

However, this doesn’t mean that Coutinho is finished as a footballer. On days when he is fit and looks in his zone, the Brazilian showcases his outrageous skills, leaving fans in awe of the Samba magician. At 28, he still is in his prime age and if he can get his act together, remain injury free, Coutinho can be a powerful player for any top team. Sadly, it wont be for Barcelona.
