Everton have been linked to Philippe Coutinho

The Catalans want to sell the Brazilian this summer as player sales are the fastest and easiest way to come out of the financial turmoil that has unfolded. Coutinho approximately earns £240,000 per week which totals to approximately £12.5 million a year. The Blaugrana will save a huge chunk in wages alone should they be able to sell Coutinho.

Interestingly, for Barcelona, there are several interested parties for the former Inter Milan man. According to Tuttomercatoweb, Barcelona are willing to say goodbye to Coutinho this summer, with Everton and Arsenal keeping a track of his situation. However, the report mentions that both the clubs will wait for at least another eight weeks as the Selecao star continues his recuperation for the knee injury he suffered in December 2020.

Everton want to bolster the attacking front and several players have already been linked to the Toffees. Coutinho has been linked in the past but this is a bit controversial considering he was one of the fan favourites at Anfield during his five year stay in Liverpool.

Keeping the slightly controversial aspect aside, is Coutinho the right profile for Everton?

Now, it was glaringly evident throughout the season that the Royal Blues lacked pace on the flanks and quick decision making in the final third. Carlo Ancelotti has made it clear that Everton are looking for a certain winger profile but does Coutinho fit the bill?
