Everton are looking to sign a winger this summer transfer window
Everton goes in the summer transfer window intending to bolster the flanks and find an able successor to Seamus Coleman. Everton’s misfiring attack had attracted a lot of criticism throughout the campaign.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison have been brilliant and effective striker duo but there has been no support from any other attackers in the team. Alex Iwobi’s lacklustre displays and Bernard’s lack of involvement put a lot of pressure on the pair of Richarlison and DCL. They did deliver scoring almost half of the team’s goals, notching a combined total of 34 goals out of Everton’s season total of 69.
Gylfi Sigurdsson is the team’s third-highest goalscorer with eight goals followed by James Rodriguez. The Toffees need more from their attacking unit to ease the burden on Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin.
Carlo Ancelotti has already stated that he wants to sign an attacker with a goalscoring profile, someone who can help them play an expansive brand of football. The Toffees have a winger with breathtaking pace which has translated to lethargic and ineffective counter attacks or movement in the final third.
