Stories are circulating that Everton will consider another loan move for Moise Kean to return to PSG next season.

This report is from a French site and it’s not clear if it’s the most reliable source, but anyway they claim Everton are talking to the French giants about another deal similar to last season’s. This deal supposedly being discussed is another loan but with an option to buy included in the agreement.

In fact this isn’t the first time that a renewed loan deal has been mentioned involving the young Italian striker who has had such a difficult time since he joined the Toffees in 2019.

Last season’s move was largely successful for Kean who seemed a player transformed in the French capital from the sometimes seemingly sulking and obviously unhappy striker seen at Goodison Park during the previous year. He scored plenty of goals and showed an energy and finishing quality that Blues fans had very rarely seen.

Given that and the fact he seemed so happy in Paris, it always appeared unlikely he would be returning to play for Everton next season.

But although he’s had a disappointing time in England, Kean is still regarded as a very promising young forward and his age combined with his fine campaign last season, means his transfer value has probably increased from the £25 million or so the Blues paid for him.

So the Toffees might be looking at a fee of around £35-40 million at least if they were to sell, even in this Covid-affected transfer market. That sort of cash would be helpful to whoever is in charge when it comes to financing new signings.

As a result I think the Blues should look to cash in on the Italian and not agree to any loan again, especially without a commitment to buy.

Juventus, his old club were apparently interested in him returning in a swap deal but there might also be others interested too.

Of course, the great unknown in all this is what will the new Everton manager want to do about Kean and indeed other players linked with an exit like James Rodriguez?

Assuming that is Rafa Benitez, as still looks most likely, then it’s impossible to know whether he will want to keep the 20-year-old starlet or be content to cash in on him.
