Will Kamara be first Benitez signing for Everton
It’s getting busy now with pre-season training having started and the transfer window speculation is really heating up so will Glen Kamara be Rafa Benitez’s first Everton signing.
Benitez has a lot on his plate as he settles into his new job and as a matter of urgency he needs to also sort out who he wants to bring to Everton.
While the club have been focused on who will replace Ancelotti, other clubs have been getting new players in. Although there’s still plenty of time in the window, the Blues are behind the curve.
One player who has been linked several times with a move to Goodison Park in the past is the Rangers midfield enforcer Kamara.
The Finnish international has been impressing both recently in the Euros and north of the border over the past few seasons.
And he has been linked with English Premier League clubs, including the Toffees. Now the story has resurfaced after his profile was raised through his efforts for Finland this summer and as speculation over who Benitez wants to sign increases.

Midfield might not be as much of a priority as the right side of the Blues team, which is the weakest part of the team but there is still a real need for further reinforcements in the middle.
There is still a lack of pace, power and energy at times especially if Allan and/or Abdoulaye Doucoure are out injured.
After those two there’s only Tom Davies and he looks to me very much a squad player who can come in for the odd game but shouldn’t be starting every week.
Kamara is a solid enough defensive player and would offer more of that energy and commitment that Everton need.
And he’s probably a more affordable option than other midfield enforcers who have been touted for a move to Merseyside recently like Pape Sarr.
I don’t know of course if there is any substance to this but it could be new manager Rafa Benitez is interested in the player and will be hoping to use his links with his former player Steven Gerrard to get this signing done.
