Everton and Inter Milan have battled for Denzel Dumfries but which side wins that skirmish is still unknown. Everton’s duel with Inter in the transfer window doesn’t seem to end anytime soon as the Toffees are now set to compete with Inter for Joaquin Correa of Lazio.

Correa is not a new name linked with the club. The Toffees have been as suitors mentioned previously as well. Then manager upheaval sidetracked the transfer activity to some extent as there was no clarity over the coach and what would be the playing style.

However, some links continued to emerge and one of them being that of Denzel Dumfries. The Royal Blues have been searching for a new right back in a bid to find the right successor to Seamus Coleman. However, Inter Milan are also said to be very much in the race as the Nerazzurri find a replacement for Achraf Hakimi.

While it is still uncertain which club will Dumfries join, it appears that these two teams are set to battle for another footballer. Lazio forward Correa is now a target for the Serie A champions.

Everton and Inter Milan to battle for Joaquin Correa

According to Calciomercato.it, Correa could end up leaving the Italian capital this summer. New Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri revealed recently that Correa had expressed the desire to try a new adventure. I Biancocelesti value the Argentine attacker at €35 million.

The report states that Everton’s pressure is strong indicating that the Toffees are still very much in the hunt to sign the 26 year old. However, Inter Milan have emerged in the race as Simone Inazghi wants to reunite with Correa. The duo worked together at Lazio and now that Inzaghi has left Rome and assumed the charge of Inter this summer, he wants to call the Argentine to Giuseppe Meazza.

Inter are ready to battle Everton but there are other teams in the background as well. PSG and Tottenham Hotspur are mentioned as interested parties but they are farther when compared to Inter and the Toffees.

Correa is comfortable in playing as a second striker and has complemented well with Ciro Immobile in the Lazio strike force. The 26 year old averaged 3.26 dribbles per game in Serie A and 4 shot creating actions. The Argentine is confident on the ball, has neat passing skills and boasts versatility as one of his strongest virtues.

Everton would want to bolster their attack and Correa can be a solid signing but with Inter also chasing the former Sevilla man, the Toffees will have to battle hard with the Italians.
