Everton predicted lineup vs Southampton: DCL and Richarlison start, Gray and Townsend feature
Rafa Benitez could deploy Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison upfront
Attack:
Striker: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Dominic Calvert-Lewin was part of the England squad that were runners-up at the EURO 2020. Sadly, for him, he didn’t feature for even a half, playing just 18 minutes of football. He played second fiddle to Harry Kane who was the leader of the team.
At Everton, DCL is the main man in the attack. Goals are expected from him and he is expected to deliver week in week out. He hasn’t played a single pre-season game but Rafa Benitez will be eager to see how DCL fits into his system and lead the Toffees’ attack.
Striker: Richarlison
Richarlison just returned from his Olympics adventure, winning the gold medal with Brazil in Tokyo. The Brazilian joined the team instead of taking a summer break as he is determined to play for the Royal Blue shirt.
He and Calvert-Lewin and a fruitful partnership last season and Benitez will be hoping that lining up the two attackers together will once again help Everton and they could reap benefits out of this duo. There has also been a lot of talk surrounding his future but for now it seems that Richarlison wants to stay and shine in the Everton shirt.
