Jordan Pickford has continued his top form from the EURO 2020 into the new campaign. Even though he has conceded three goals, he has remained error free and silenced his critics with strong performances. The England No.1 is on top of his game, making a total of seven saves and posting an impressive save percentage of 70%. The days of slander have disappeared in the dark as Pickford continues to shine.

Pickford could still work on his distribution. With a veteran like Begovic in the camp, his counsel can massively help the 27 year old in further fine tuning his game.

Asmir Begovic was signed as a backup to Pickford after Robin Olsen returned to AS Roma at the end of last season. The 34 year old veteran isn’t expected to challenge Pickford for the starting role but will be a useful commodity in the Cups or when the fixture congestion takes a toll on Pickford (if at all). Begovic started the game against Huddersfield and pulled off two brilliant saves in the game to keep the Toffees at par. His experience can also aid Pickford in many areas.
