Everton travel to Aston Villa

Everton face Aston Villa on Saturday at Villa Park as Rafa Benitez’s men aim to continue their upbeat start to the season. Their current form is reminiscent of last year’s start where they were unbeaten for the first five league games but then managed only one win in the next six matches.

The Toffees will be determined to not repeat such a mishap and continue working in the positive direction. Rafa Benitez’s side has been direct, prolific and lethal. Against Aston Villa, the Merseysiders will be without Dominic Calvert-Lewin who is out for at least two to three weeks due to a quadricep injury.

Rafa Benitez lined up his troops in a 3-4-3 against Burnley but he’s unlikely to deploy the team in the same shape against the Villans. A back four could return with two strikers up front. In 23 games held at Villa Park, Aston Villa have been triumphant in 12 games whereas Everton have walked out with three points on 10 occasions. Everton face a tricky away trip but the momentum resides with Benitez’s blues and they will hope to make the most of the opportunity.

Here is the Everton predicted lineup vs Aston Villa:

Goalkeeper: Jordan Pickford

Jordan Pickford has kept one clean sheet in four games but most importantly he has been confident in between the sticks. The Englishman has produced 12 saves in four games with a save percentage of 72%. Against Villa, Pickford will face attackers like Danny Ings, Leon Bailey and Emiliano Buendia.
