Salomon Rondon could get his first Everton start

Attack:

Striker: Salomon Rondon

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin out for two to three weeks, Salomon Rondon has the biggest chance to make a positive impact and win the hearts of the Everton faithful. The former Newcastle United man is known to be a warrior and can muscle his way through the defence while also being a respectable linkup player.

He made a substitute appearance against Burnley but could be in line for his first Everton start. Rondon will have an interesting battle with Tyrone Mings. Rondon is aware of Benitez’s methods and will transition into the team with ease.

Striker: Richarlison

Richarlison was the sole striker against Burnley but will have the company of Rondon against Aston Villa. The Brazilian’s right foot has remained silent after the game against Southampton and he will be itching to get back on the score sheet.

Richarlison could also benefit from Rondon’s abilities which could allow the Brazilian to flourish. The 24 year old has not been as influential as he would’ve wanted, especially in front of the goal but his enigma has rarely dropped.

Will James Rodriguez play?

Rafa Benitez did mention in his pre-game press conference that James Rodriguez has trained normally with the team but a decision is yet to be taken if he will be included in the squad, depending on how he trains on Friday.
