Everton face QPR in the third round of the Carabao Cup

Everton travels to West London to face QPR in the third round of the Carabao Cup. The Toffees were victorious against Huddersfield in the last round, winning 2-1. The QPR tie comes after Everton lost their first game of the season against Aston Villa in the Premier League so it will be crucial how the Toffees react to it and perform against the Championship side.

Everton do have a depleted squad and will remain without Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison, Seamus Coleman, Jordan Pickford and Jean-Philippe Gbamin remains unavailable. Meanwhile, James Rodriguez missed the trip to Aston Villa and is expected to miss the QPR tie as he currently is negotiating a deal with Qatar side Al Rayyan.

The Merseysiders have a hugely depleted squad and very little room. With a lot of preferred players out injured, Rafa Benitez will try to work out the best solution and make a few changes in the squad to keep the regular first team players fit.

Here is the Everton predicted lineup against QPR:

Goalkeeper: Asmir Begovic

In absence of Pickford, Asmir Begovic will be the ideal choice to start between the sticks and Andy Lonergan will be the keeper on the bench. The 34 year old pulled off a couple of good saves against Villa but ended up conceding three goals. Begovic looks sharp, especially from close range and will be relied upon until the England No.1 returns.
