Demarai Gray will start with Salomon Rondon
Attack:
Striker: Salomon Rondon
Salomon Rondon has struggled with match fitness which is understandable as the Venezuelan is playing regular football after four months. Benitez has insisted that the striker is training well but will take time to regain his match fitness. He featured in last two games but couldn’t be decisive in any games and started to look tired towards the end of the game.
Due to the lack of available strikers, Rondon will start his third game in seven days but how effective can he remain to be seen. If he can score his first goal for Everton, his confidence will get a huge boost.
Striker: Demarai Gray
Demarai Gray has already been lauded as the steal of the season by many. He has been influential in games and is clearly getting his lost mojo back. The former Leicester City man is not an outright striker but will support Rondon as a secondary striker and make use of his breathtaking pace.
Norwich have conceded 14 goals until now and the likes of Gray and Rondon will try to exploit the weak backline.
Will Anthony Gordon get minutes after his strong display against QPR?
Anthony Gordon was inspiring, resilient and energetic against QPR even though the Toffees failed to win the encounter. The 20 year old came close to scoring his first goal for the club but couldn’t find the back of the net. He produced four key passes, the most by any player that night.
Gordon deserves to play some part in the Norwich game. The injuries and lack of match fitness in the attack can allow Gordon to get a good chunk of minutes under his belt and further aid his confidence. Rafa Benitez seems to like the youngster and there’s a good chance that he’ll feature against the Canaries.
