Everton were close to acquiring Donny van de Beek on loan in the summer only for Manchester United to reject the offer. With game time coming at a premium or hardly coming at all, Van de Beek wants to push for an exit in January.

The Dutchman arrived with a price tag of £35 million and a reputation as one of the most exciting young midfielders who was ready to take the giant leap in his career at Manchester United. Sadly, the former Ajax man’s career has nosedived into stagnancy rather than being on an uphill trajectory.

Van de Beek just started four Premier League games last season. The story hasn’t changed for him this season as he has been left frustrated on the United bench, just playing 141 minutes so far this season and is without a Premier League start. The 24 year old was restricted to the bench for fifth game in a row as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men were left humiliated by Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The midfielder has made his mind to push for an exit in the upcoming January transfer window. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also stated that Van de Beek is making another effort to leave the Red Devils. To boost his chances to leave the club, Van de Beek has decided to make changes in his entourage to push through a move.

According to Metro, the Dutch midfielder has changed his agent ahead of the January transfer window as he eyes a January exit from Manchester United. The former Ajax man has parted ways with Guido Albers and has chosen Ali Dursun as his next agent. Dursun’s clientele includes Frenkie de Jong, Victor Lindelof, Emil Forsberg, Martin Braithwaite and other stars who are coming from the Netherlands and Nordic nations.

Everton, Newcastle United and Juventus are keeping tabs on the 24 year old with the Red Devils open to letting the player leave if a suitable offer arrives at the table. Newcastle United’s recent takeover lead by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund has seen a number of players linked to the Toons with Van de Beek being one of them.

The Toffees have struggled for depth in midfield and Van de Beek offers much more than just depth. He is not a tenacious workhorse like Abdoulaye Doucoure but has guile and smoothness in his play which offers a different option to Rafa Benitez.

Juventus can offer him European football whereas Newcastle United can possibly offer him a mouthwatering and a competitive monetary package. Whether Everton can beat the aforementioned competition and sign the Dutchman remains to be seen.
