Rafa Benitez is now searching for his first win in six games as Everton travels to Brentford
Everton’s desperation to secure a win could be over the roof at this point. Rafa Benitez’s side NEEDS to get a positive result on Sunday as they travel to Brentford Community Stadium. Everton are winless in the last six fixtures and haven’t been playing exhilarating football either.
Impatience, anger and resentment has been widely observed across the fan section and the only way to calm the fuming fans would be to secure a convincing win and make a step forward towards recovery and stability.
The injury crisis doesn’t help Everton’s chances as some key players are either ruled out or a big doubt for the clash. Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Tom Davies and Andre Gomes are definitely out meanwhile there are growing concerns over Demarai Gray and Allan. What surely comes as a boost to the side is the return of Abdoulaye Doucoure. Richarlison and Mason Holgate remain suspended for the game.
The Toffees will have to deal with the aerial threat of Ivan Toney, especially during the set pieces, an area where Benitez’s Everton have struggled. The zonal marking hasn’t offered much security and players are not well drilled in such a setup. Thomas Frank’s side are an intense pressing side and look for a trigger to carry out the attack. Tactically, it wont be an easy task for the Toffees, but Benitez will have a plan devised.
Everton predicted lineup vs Brentford
Goalkeeper: Jordan Pickford
Jordan Pickford will start the game against Brentford and will hope to display his fine form. Even though he conceded three goals against Manchester City, he was impressive throughout the game, pulling off some fantastic one-on-one saves and remaining alert and cautious.
