Abdoulaye Doucoure could return for Everton against Brentford

Midfield:

Central midfield: Fabian Delph

Allan picked up a muscle strain against Manchester City and Rafa Benitez is keeping his fingers crossed over the Brazilian’s fitness. The 30 year old was nowhere to be seen in training, in the pictures released by the club, hence there remains some doubts.

In his absence, Fabian Delph is likely to step up again and provide the solidity ahead of the back four. The Englishman is comfortable in possession and controls the play well in the midfield, which could help Everton fight the midfield overload of Brentford.

Central midfield: Abdoulaye Doucoure

The moment of return has finally arrived as Abdoulaye Doucoure is likely to be back for the game. The Frenchman missed the last six games due to a stress fracture but Benitez indicated that Doucoure could be fit and available. He could come in place of Allan who is doubtful for the game and offer his combative energy and classic box-to-box runs.

Right wide: Anthony Gordon

With Gray’s injury, Anthony Gordon could start his third consecutive game for the Toffees and have another chance of impressing Benitez. The 20 year old youngster has flourished this season even though he is yet to bag his first goal. His constant running and hard work hasn’t gone unnoticed and it’s only a matter of time before he score his first goal for the senior side.

Left wide: Alex Iwobi

Even though Gray participated in light training session, he could miss the game which means Alex Iwobi is lined up as his replacement. The Nigerian has had an underwhelming season and a strong effort against Brentford might be a good way to win back the support of the fans.
