Everton striker Salomon Rondon could start over Tosun, Dobbin and Simms

Attack:

Striker: Salomon Rondon

As Richarlison misses the game due to the accumulation of five yellow cards, Salomon Rondon is likely to start in the striker’s role. Benitez indicated that the chances of Rondon or Cenk Tosun starting are higher than that of two youngsters Lewis Dobbin and Ellis Simms. Rondon has had a tepid start to his Everton career and hasn’t quite gelled with the pace of the Premier League.

The Venezuelan lacks the pace up top and so far has failed to compensate it with his physicality and presence around the goal area. Brentford are on a five game winless streak and this could be a tailor-made opportunity for Rondon to get his first goal for the club and help his side in crisis.

Secondary striker: Andros Townsend

Andros Townsend featured behind Richarlison in the last game, instead of playing his usual right wing position. With Gray not featuring, Townsend could be given the same role as Iwobi and Gordon operate from the flanks.

Townsend was decent against City and created a few half chances whenever Everton got into attack mode. The Englishman has had no goal contribution in the last five games and he will be itching to help his side to get back to winning ways.
