Everton: Three biggest Winners and Losers from Brentford vs Everton
Brentford ended their five match winless run against Everton
WINNERS: Brentford
This one is pretty obvious, Brentford won the game, of course, they are the winners, but this is a huge three points for the Bees, who before this were on a similar form to Everton, which was abysmal. It got to the point where people were starting to question if Thomas Frank’s side would be able to stay in the Premier League, but these three points put the London-based outfit in 12th, two places above Everton and seven points away from the relegation zone.
It wasn’t the most convincing performance from Brentford, with the Toffees probably being the better side out of the two, being unfortunate to win a penalty of their own when Charlie Goode decided to try to steal Rondon’s shirt, but Everton died by their sword due to Rafa’s persistence with Rondon, who struggled in a physical battle with Brentford’s centre-backs, and his lack of pace hindered the Merseysiders on the counter-attack.
This isn’t a knock on Brentford, they showed the fight and heart to keep themselves ahead no matter how many chances Everton were given, with Christian Nørgaard and IvanToney’s work-rate shining for the Bees, with Toney putting in the hard yards defensively, something Everton fans would love to see from their attackers.
Were there any more losers/winners from Brentford vs Everton?
