Everton just cannot catch a break at the moment. The miserable run of form has seen them pick up just two points from the last seven games. Their last win came back in September and the last goal they scored was on 2nd November.

Going into the Merseyside derby, not many supporters expect to win the game but what will be important is that if they at least put up a fight against the mighty Liverpool. What Everton fans want to see is a hearty, brave and passionate performance by all the players. Everton will be without Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Yerry Mina, further weakening the spine of the team.

Here is how Prince Rupert’s Tower staff predicts the results of the Merseyside derby:

Matt Townsend: Everton 0 – 3 Liverpool

Can Everton win the Derby game tonight? Any rational analysis would say no there’s not a chance for this blues to her three points tonight at the Grand Old Lady. Liverpool come into the match in imperious form and have scored eight goals without reply in their last two Premier league.

Meanwhile, the home team have not found the net themselves in a month since defeat at Wolves. The Toffees have conceded twelve goals in a terrible run of form that has stretched to six games without a win.

The only chink of light for those loyal Evertonians who turn up tonight is that there have been times when the Toffees were big underdogs and managed to upset the odds. But, I’m afraid I don’t think that will happen tonight and I reckon this will be the sixth defeat in seven with Liverpool running out 3-0 winners.

Yusha Sharif: Everton 0 – 3 Liverpool

My prediction for the game is a routine 3-0 win for Liverpool.

I feel that Liverpool will run out comfortable victors at the Goodison Park against Everton as they have been in sublime form. Jurgen Klopp’s men have won their previous 3 games, and in those three matches they have scored a combined total of 10 goals and have conceded 0 during that time.

Whereas, Rafa Benitez’ men are winless in their previous 7 games. During that time they have lost to the likes of West Ham United, Watford, Wolves, Manchester City and Brentford and drew against Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

The last win for the Toffees came against the struggling Norwich City back in September when they defeated the Canaries, 2-0 at the Goodison Park. But, the Premier League is known for its unpredictability, so it wouldn’t come as a surprise if Everton all of a sudden played some solid counter-attacking football and defeat Liverpool on Wednesday.

Callum Brannan: Everton 1 – 3 Liverpool

I think it will be a difficult game for Everton, they will struggle to handle Liverpool’s heavy metal style of football which will more than likely lead to the Reds capitalising on an unorganised Everton defence. I expect a goal from both Mane and Salah, with Rondon bringing one back late on to cause even more outrage with the fans.

Parth Jhaveri: Everton 0 – Liverpool 2

Despite the return of Richarlison, Everton will likely have problems in scoring and generating chances. Rafa Benitez may deploy his side to soak up pressure and defend deep, leaving minimal attacking chances. Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane could give Lucas Digne and Seamus Coleman a very hard time.

The difference in quality is vast and Liverpool will eventually manage to find a way through Everton. Jordan Pickford may have a very busy night and if things start to fall apart, the routine win for Reds could soon become an annihilating defeat.
