Everton and Lucas Digne are on the verge of an ugly divorce. Digne was always admired by the fans but the player seems to be going far away from Goodison Park as the rift between thr Frenchman and Rafa Benitez is beyond repairable.

Back in December, Digne had an argument with Benitez and since then the Spanish manager has given cold treatment to the player and not included him in the team. In fact, Rafa left him out of the squad for games against Arsenal and Crystal Palace meanwhile leaving him as an unused substitute against Brighton.

Another reason that certifies Digne’s exit in January is the arrival of Vitaliy Mykolenko. The Ukrainian has been signed from Dynamo Kyiv for a fee reported in the region of £17 million which will be paid in instalments.

Against Brighton, Benitez deployed Seamus Coleman as a left wing back despite Digne being fit and available, sending another message to the 28 year old that he is no longer needed at the club.

Lucas Digne is likely to leave Everton

Digne has a line of suitors, all structuring unique deals to win his signature. Juventus view the former Barcelona man as a replacement to Alex Sandro who could be sold in the summer. Chelsea have lost Ben Chilwell for the rest of the season and Thomas Tuchel isn’t a big fan of Marcos Alonso. The London based side have structured a loan deal for Digne with an option to buy in the summer for £21.3 million.

Serie A champions Inter Milan are keen on Digne’s services and view him as a perfect candidate to replace Ivan Perisic. Digne’s attacking output and crossing abilities make him an ideal replacement for Perisic even though Digne is a left back by trade. Inter are said to be considering a loan.

The chances of the left back arriving in Serie A are increasing each day. Digne wants to leave Everton and Inter Milan have made him the goal of the January transfer window. According to Tutto Mercato Web, Inter Milan’s priority is to sign a left sided wide player and the Inter hierarchy comprising of Piero Ausilio and Giuseppe Marotta are convinced that Digne is the right transfer target.

The Frenchman has emerged as the favourite to replace Perisic who has spent over four years at the club, amassing 228 appearances and in the process scoring 49 goals and providing 42 assists.

Inter also keep track of Filip Kostic but Digne remains the favourite among the Inter chiefs. Everton are likely to sanction Digne’s sale in this transfer window. The Toffees may look for the highest offer to replenish the treasury.
