1. Lucas Digne

No surprises there. Lucas Digne is most definitely heading towards an Everton exit. Before the curtains draw on the January transfer window, Digne will bid farewell to Everton and seek greener pastures.

It all began in December when Rafa Benitez and Digne had an argument regarding tactics and since then the Frenchman has been left out of the team. Benitez’s stubbornness hit new heights when he deployed Seamus Coleman in the left wing back role despite Digne being fit and available against Brighton.

The eroding relationship is at a point of no return. The arrival of Mykolenko served as the final nail in the coffin. Digne is studying his options and is expected to leave Merseyside before the end of January.

Clubs like Chelsea, Newcastle United and Inter Milan have shown interest but nothing has been advanced yet. Digne signed a new deal in February 2021, and in the process becoming one of the highest paid players at the club.

According to Salary Sport, Digne earns £110,000 per week which amounts to approximately £5.72 million per season. If Digne is sold or even offloaded to a side on a loan with an option to buy, the Toffees can save half yearly salary of around £2.86 million.  The Royal Blues want to offload him but it remains to be seen if they prefer to sell him permanently or accept a loan with an option to buy proposal.
