Like Tosun, Jonjoe Kenny is also in the final six months of his contract. The right back who was once deemed as a strong backup to Seamus Coleman has now been reduced to a fringe player. While he remains a backup to Coleman, Kenny’s days as an Everton player seem to be numbered, especially after the arrival of Patterson.

The Everton academy product never lived up to the early promise and has remained in anonymity for the last couple of seasons, appearing sporadically in Cup games or during extreme injury crisis.

Everton, just like any other Premier League team battled a COVID outbreak in the squad and fielded fringe players. As a result, Kenny has had regular football come his way recently as he has started the last two Premier League games and even registered an assist against Brighton.

With Patterson now signed, Kenny may not even get to play cup ties and parting ways with him will be the most logical option. Kenny earns £15,000 per week which is roughly £780,000 per season. If Everton can sell him, they can save £390,000 in wages for the remainder of the season.
