4. Fabian Delph

Fabian Delph is the last player on the list whose deal will expire in summer 2022. The Englishman’s Everton career has been inhibited by injuries and it is only now that he is enjoying an extended time free of injuries in the team.

Rafa Benitez was open to selling him last summer but Delph stated that he wanted to fight for his place. When the injury crisis hit the Everton midfield and Abdoulaye Doucoure was ruled out, Delph stepped up and provided steely performances in the middle of the park. He seemed to be the answer to the midfield worries but given his poor injury record and age, it is wise not to get carried away with that idea.

Everton are unlikely to offer Delph a contract extension which means that he will head out of Goodison either this month or in the summer. Offloading the former Manchester City man may be difficult and Benitez may instead choose to keep him until the summer but if an appropriate offer arrives, things could change direction.

The Merseysiders are searching for a new midfielder with links to Sean Longstaff and Bruno Guimaraes circulating in the social media circles. The 31 year old pockets £92,000 per week, as per Salary Sport. If Delph is to leave in this window, Everton can save £2.44 million in wages for the half season.
