The clouds of injury crisis once again hover over Everton and this time it is the midfield department that has been compromised. With just a few days to go in the winter transfer window, the Toffees will now have to frantically search for midfield reinforcements. Luckily, Everton does have a midfielder on their wish list – Tanguy Ndombele.

Ndombele has emerged as a target in the last few days. The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder is looking to get out of London after a failure to make an impact since coming to the club in 2019. The Frenchman is not in the plans of Antonio Conte and has been given the green light to search for a new club.

Understandably, PSG are Ndombele’s biggest admirers and are making huge efforts to secure the 25 year old on loan. Spurs will be willing to accept a loan deal given that the club taking Ndombele cover 100% of the player’s wages.

PSG are not the only interested party. From the Premier League, there’s Everton and from Spain, there’s Valencia who are keen to take the former Olympique Lyon man on a short loan.

According to Foot Mercato, Everton is ready to cover the entire salary for Ndombele. However, even PSG and Valencia are ready to cover his wages. Ndombele’s first choice is PSG but there is an obstacle that PSG needs to tackle before making the signing.

The French giants tried a swap deal offering Julian Draxler, Ander Herrera, Danilo Pereira and Leandro Parades but Spurs are uninterested in any of the aforementioned players. For PSG, the problem rises due to the availability of too many players in the midfield. Les Rouge et Bleu need to offload some players before making a move for Ndombele or there simply might not be enough squad space.

Ndombele could be a temporary fit for Everton given the injury crisis in the midfield department. The clouds of injuries are once again hovering over the side and this time it is the midfield department that has been compromised.

Abdoulaye Doucoure was forced off in the loss to Aston Villa and the reports have stated that he will be out for at least four weeks. Doucoure’s absence is a massive blow to the club as his energy and combative style was essential in what seems to be a proper relegation scrap now for Everton.

Furthermore, backup midfielder Fabian Delph has also suffered a hamstring injury ruling him out for four weeks leaving the Toffees barely stacked in the midfield. These injuries along with Tom Davies’ long term absence means that Everton are left with just Allan, Andre Gomes and Jean-Philippe Gbamin in the engine room. Tyler Onyango might get a chance but midfield reinforcement seems necessary and Ndombele is a reasonable choice.

However, the Toffees are set to receive a huge blow in the Ndombele chase as the Foot Mercato report states that the Frenchman isn’t thrilled by the prospect of joining the Toffees. So, if Everton are to sign the 25 year old, they’ll have to have extraordinary convincing powers as the player remains inclined to join PSG.
