Everton: 3 Chelsea players Frank Lampard could sign as Everton manager
Everton are set to announce Frank Lampard as the new manager
Everton are in the final stages of selecting the next manager after Rafa Benitez was sacked almost a fortnight ago. Frank Lampard was one of the favourites for the job as Everton are set to make a decision over Lampard, Vitor Pereira and Duncan Ferguson.
Lampard has appeared for at least a couple of interviews and reports suggest that he ise set to be announced as the next Everton manager. The 43 year old has been out of job since parting ways with Chelsea in January 2021. Since then, Lampard has been linked with a job to Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and even Everton before they hired Benitez.
Lampard didn’t have great success with Chelsea but one thing that he received enormous praise was for his utilization of youth and grooming of the youngsters. The Chelsea legend played a key role in baptizing the Chelsea youth and polishing them during his reign as the Chelsea boss. Tammy Abraham, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Fikayo Tomori and Mason Mount can attest. Perhaps, Everton’s burgeoning young talents may also undergo a similar development curve.
Back when Lampard was at Derby, he was able to strike some loan deals with Chelsea due to his cordial relationship with the board as Tomori and Mount arrived on loan from Chelsea, going on to play an important role in Derby’s journey to the Championship play-off final.
With the Toffees struggling for depth and having a relegation battle on their hands, they need quality options in the team and there’s a chance that Lampard may do his thing to attract some Chelsea talent at least on a temporary basis.
