Everton forward Richarlison can be the difference maker against Manchester City
Attack:
Left wing: Richarlison
Even though deployed as a left winger on paper, Richarlison may likely operate as a left inside forward. The Brazilian has scored twice against Man City in last five games but has ended up on the losing end on all occasions. Richarlison’s battle with Kyle Walker will be enticing to watch.
The 24 year old has been focal point of sorts for Everton as Dominic Calvert-Lewin continues to struggle after returning from a series of pain-stricken injuries.
Striker: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has seen his season ravaged by injuries, leaving him with just eight appearances under his belt so far. He looked knackered in the game against Southampton and couldn’t get into favourable goal scoring positions.
He will be hoping to get better service this time around but if Everton are to score, it’ll most likely come through a blistering counter attack which means Calvert-Lewin will have to be clinical and make no errors in front of the goal.
Right wing: Anthony Gordon
Even though Demarai Gray has been given the green light, Lampard might not want to risk him immediately. Reading between the lines, Lampard spoke to the press on Friday and he seemed sceptical to start Gray in a physically intensive game.
Anthony Gordon would start and try to inject energy into the attack against a resilient side. Gordon has been fantastic under Lampard and keeps on growing this season. If he’s able to put another powerful performance against Guardiola’s City, his confidence will be off the roof.
Will Everton secure a positive result against the leaders of the Premier League?
