What is there left to say about this team after the latest terrible defeat for Everton away at Spurs as the Toffees’ went down to a hugely embarrasing 5-0 loss last night.

This was just the latest awful away performance from an Everton team which as it has so often throughout this season, let down those loyal Blues’ fans who had made the trip to North London.

What a dreadful effort that was from this group of so-called professional footballers. Just bring out all the cliches’ from almost every single away defeat that the Toffees’ have had this season.

All those same things were fully on display last night. A lack of physicality, commitment and resiliance, individual errors everywhere and a total inability to dig in and get something from a game even if your not playing well.

And, it started with another theme we’ve seen time and again this campaign; an individual error leading to a goal. That error was from a player, Micheal Keane, culpable for a number of these mistakes during this miserable campaign.

I think Frank Lampard got his tactics totally wrong last night and the most fundamental problem was playing what often looked like a back three.

Keane in particular cannot play in a back three and there is ample evidence in the last few seasons to underline this fact.

He simply can’t cope with playing a high line and lacks the pace and ability to cope when he is turned and facing his own goal. That was exactly the scenario that led to the first goal via his panicked deflection.

Then Jordan Pickford can’t keep another shot out and at two nil down that was always it. There was never any chance this bunch of players would ever have what is needed to recover.

So, another match away from home has come and gone with Everton once more turning in a gutless performance and taking nothing from it.

I’m reaching the point where I’m almost done with this team. I said in my match preview that it was important to get something from away games if this club is going to stay up.

But, I just can’t see it and I am really beginning to feel this could be the season the Blues’ finally fall through that trap door.

The coming two home matches are just massive and if the Toffees’ don’t get all six points, then I don’t see any real hope that they can stay up.
