Club aiming to renegotiate terms with Everton for £25 million man
Juventus bid farewell to Cristiano Ronaldo last summer and to fill the mammoth void, trusted Alvaro Morata and Everton striker Moise Kean. Kean arrived on a two year loan with an obligation to buy for €28 million. After a tepid first half, the Bianconeri splashed the cash to bring Dusan Vlahovic who is thriving in Turin.
To the Italians, it is clear that Vlahovic will remain their prime striker for years to come. For Morata and Kean, the decision still hangs in the air. Both the forwards are on loans. Juventus have a right to redeem Morata for €35 million, a figure considered too extravagant for a 29 year old who has just netted 11 goals in 45 appearances this term.
Kean will enter his second loan year at Juve next season and the Turin based club have the obligation to buy him at the end of 2022-23 season. In addition to €7 million in loan fees and €28 million as transfer fees, Everton will be entitled to another €3 million in bonuses if certain sporting objectives are met.
The Old Lady considers the whole operation very expensive. Kean’s performances have been substandard, scoring just five goals in 29 Serie A games. In Morata’s case, Juve do have some discretion but in Kean’s case, they have no other option but to purchase the striker because of the obligatory clause.
Juventus aim to renegotiate Moise Kean deal with Everton
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Juventus are contemplating on what can be done with Kean. Together, Kean and Morata can cost upwards of €65 million in transfer fees alone, an amount considered too high in the current scenario. As per the report, the Italian club intends to renegotiate the deals with both the clubs and agree on favourable terms.
Juventus do not consider Kean as an integral part of their future and are already eyeing another striker in a similar age bracket, Giacomo Raspadori. In the event of Raspadori’s arrival, Kean will be on the expendable list.
The Bianconeri is convinced that Kean can have an attractive market abroad. Premier League could be a possible destination and PSG have always been admirers of the Italian striker after his outstanding loan spell in 2020. In any case, Juventus will have to negotiate with Everton and reach a new agreement, in order to make a sale or offload Kean temporarily.
