Defence:

Asmir Begovic – 5

Asmir Begovic recently extended with Everton, staying at least till 2023. The Bosnian produced a wonderful save from close range, stopping Gabriel Martinelli from scoring in the first half. He could have done better while conceding the third goal but he had a lot of bodies in front of him and couldn’t see the ball until the very last moment. Made a solid close range save from Lokonga’s effort.

Mason Holgate – 5

Mason Holgate started his seventh consecutive game as he looked to finish the season in fine form but had been very busy in the tussle with Arsenal forwards. As the Gunners dominated the proceedings in the first half, Holgate had his work cut out. Holgate produced a perfect tackle to deny Alexandre Lacazette from taking a shot in the second half.

Michael Keane – 6

Arsenal forwards Eddie Nketiah, Bukayo Saka and Martinelli have all tried but they haven’t been able to get past Michael Keane easily. The Englishman held his fort in the first half, absorbing the pressure. He played Gabriel onside in the fourth goal and was just getting overwhelmed by Arsenal’s intensity.

Jarrad Branthwaite – 5

Perhaps, Branthwaite had the nerviest start out of the three central defenders. As the game progressed, Branthwaite looked more at ease but like his two defensive partners, the youngster was constantly kept busy and alert. The 20 year old was outstanding in a one on one duel with Saka as the Arsenal forward was clear on goal with just Begovic to beat but Branthwaite put a solid tackle to put off Saka.
