Donny van de Beek came on as a substitute for Everton and scored

Midfield:

Alex Iwobi – 5

Alex Iwobi had a lot of defending to do as the back five were busy with relentless Arsenal pushing forward. He gave away the penalty which was converted by Gabriel Martinelli. Had more defensive work to do as Arsenal looked dangerous. The Nigerian had very few opportunities to push forward and aid Everton in the attack.

Abdoulaye Doucoure – 4

Abdoulaye Doucoure was massive against Crystal Palace and had possibly earned himself a day off but the Mali international started the game. As Everton were being overrun by Arsenal, Doucoure couldn’t do much. He was taken off after 37 minutes as Donny van de Beek came on.

Tom Davies – 5

Tom Davies made his first appearance since November after he picked up a knee injury that kept him out for almost six months. Much like Doucoure, Davies played most of the first half chasing the ball. The Englishman didn’t have too many chances to push ahead or play a forward pass.

Davies was booked in the second half for simulation as Everton were looking to break forward. He was brought off in the second half, giving Isaac Price some minutes to have fun.

Jonjoe Kenny – 4

The academy graduate likely donned the Everton jersey for the final time as he is set to depart as a free agent after the end of this season. Kenny has had his ups and downs but remained dedicated to the club, ready to help in whatever way possible.

He looked a bit out of place in the first half which can be justified because he was playing out of position. Saka gave him a hard time. He would have wished to bow out with a strong performance but Arsenal and Saka were too good.
