A few days ago, Everton midfielder Allan was linked with a move to Lazio. The chiefs at Lazio are planning a major overhaul and want to please Maurizio Sarri. Claudio Lotito also wants to renew Sarri’s contract and keep him in the Italian capital until 2025.

In order to please Sarri, Lazio are ready to go big in the market and have been tracking a number of players. In midfield, Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek remains the dream signing.

Loftus-Cheek and Sarri share an amicable relationship. The Italian was able to bring out the best in the Englishman, as he went on to score 10 goals and provided five assists in 40 appearances under Sarri. However, Loftus-Cheek’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, has shut the door to Lazio move.

"He and Sarri have an excellent relationship, but for the moment there is nothing. Despite the club being in a transformative phase (owing to a change in ownership), Chelsea are still a top club. It is difficult to leave such a club. (via The Laziali)"

Lazio could turn to Everton midfielder Allan

With Loftus-Cheek’s exit unlikely, Lazio could turn their attention to Everton’s Allan. According to Tutto Mercato Web, Loftus-Cheek remains a dream for the I Biancocelesti. However, Sarri would also welcome Allan.

With the Loftus-Cheek deal almost dead after Barnett’s comments, Lazio could intensify their efforts for Allan. The £25 million man will enter the final 12 months of his contract this summer with an uncertain future.

Frank Lampard heavily relied on Fabian Delph to carry out the holding midfield role when Everton were fighting for survival. After Delph’s injury, Andre Gomes returned to the lineup but not Allan.

Sarri and Allan were together at Napoli for three seasons before Sarri moved to manage Chelsea. The Brazilian played the best football of his career under Sarri which is why he could be tempted to reunite with the Italian boss.

The Toffees are also scouting the market for a holding midfielder with players such as Cheick Doucoure and Joao Palhinha linked to Everton. A holding midfielder surely remains on Frank Lampard’s agenda as he aims to strengthen a number of positions this summer.

Allan was bought for £25 million in 2020 and the Merseysiders will be hoping to recoup a sizeable amount of what they paid in 2020. As the summer transfer window progresses, the story around Allan and Lazio could further develop.

Should Everton sell Allan?
