The summer transfer window will open this Friday in England and Everton are expected to be very active. Everton’s manager, Frank Lampard, will be looking to revamp his roster and this means some of the starters must be sold to new clubs. A recent report indicates that Yerry Mina is certain to be sold this summer and his value at €15 million.

Everton are looking for a change at the centre back position as the team looks to bring in James Tarkowski to replace Mina. Some reports have claimed that Tarkowski is very close to signing pen to paper with the Toffees. The former Burnley defender would be a cost efficient replacement as he is a free agent this summer and therefore a free transfer.

When fit and on the pitch, Mina was a key contributor for Everton for four seasons. However, since joining from Barcelona four seasons ago, the Colombian has failed to even play twenty games for two seasons out of the four.

His injury record has massively hurt Everton and the high wages being pocketed by the towering centre back seem to be going down the drain because he ends up missing important phases of the season. Mina had his most successful season where he played in 29 matches. He had a terrible season this time, playing only 13 Premier League games and now looks to be on the way out.

Yerry Mina to be sold this summer by Everton?

In the past, several teams have expressed interest in purchasing the 27-year old Colombian defender including a few clubs in Serie A. Both clubs in Milan have expressed interest and Florentina could also join the bidding.

Mina’s value has gone down significantly since his transfer from Barcelona. At the time of the transfer, Mina was 23 years old and looked to be a promising young prospect. Everton purchased him for €30 million back in 2018 and now his value stands at roughly half that figure. His deal also expires in 2023 which doesn’t help Everton’s case either.

Everton are making the right decision by moving on from Mina despite their desire to salvage the transaction from years ago. The club’s finances have become a major issue in recent years and replacing Mina with Tarkowski is a cost effective upgrade.

Where do you think Yerry Mina will end up?
