Exit of £20 million Everton target imminent as Premier League club secure 25 year old player
Everton target Harry Winks is now all but certain to leave Tottenham Hotspur as Antonio Conte has brought in a new midfielder. According to Sky Sports, Spurs have reached an agreement with Brighton and Hove Albion for Yves Bissouma for a fee of £25 million that could reach £30 million based on add-ons.
Spurs beat Everton, Aston Villa and Arsenal to the signing of Bissouma who will now join Spurs and compete with the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp. The arrival of a midfielder almost guarantees that Winks will not feature for the North London club next season.
The 26 year old played just 905 minutes of Premier League football last season and was below Bentancur and Hojbjerg in the pecking order. Everton have shown interest in signing the Englishman and the arrival of Bissouma could pace the negotiations quicker.
Winks’ career at Tottenham seems to be coming to an end and they are open to a sale. Conte has already told Winks that he is free to leave the club and he will have a price tag of £20 million.

Winks is one of the shortlisted midfielders on Lampard’s list. The list also consists of names such as Connor Gallagher and Billy Gilmour. Lampard is determined to add a holding midfielder to the ranks, a profile that Everton have been lacking.
Given the current financial situation, the Toffees will first have to sell and only then new signings can be made. Due to the fragile economic situation, Everton may wish to sign the 26 year old on a loan instead of a direct transfer.
Spurs will be looking to get the maximum amount from Winks’ sale after they have spent £25 million for Bissouma. Everton need to act quickly as they are losing out on others in the race to sign a holding midfielder. Cheick Doucoure, another Everton target, is close to joining Crystal Palace.
Marc Roca, who could have been perfect for Everton, is close to completing a transfer to Leeds United. On the other hand, Gallagher is set to stay at Chelsea as Thomas Tuchel will give the 22 year old a chance to prove his talent.
For making a solid offer, the Toffees will have to wait for an offer to arrive for either Richarlison or Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a sale looks imminent in order to fund a rebuild. Players like Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes have also been put on the market but their sales will not generate huge sums of money.
