Richarlison played a key role for Everton last season, scoring goals at a crucial time in the relegation battle, and netting six goals in the last nine games. The Brazilian has always been a talismanic presence for the Toffees – a vibrant player who gives his all on the pitch. Everton indeed faces the risk of losing the 25 year old this summer.

Everton are in grave financial danger and the only way out for the Toffees is to sell one of their prized assets. Frank Lampard wants to overhaul the squad and in order to do that, he’ll need adequate cash at his disposal. Everton are in a position where they’ll first have to sell and then spend on summer transfers.

While players like Andre Gomes and Yerry Mina have been put on for sale, their sales will not generate enormous amounts of cash. Instead, a sale of Richarlison or Dominic Calvert-Lewin will make sure that the Merseysiders receive big money that will in turn help Lampard to carry out the squad up gradation he is targeting this summer.

Richarlison has already on the list of clubs like Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. The Toffees have made it clear that they are expecting bids in the region of £60 million – £65 million for the Brazilian.

Newcastle consider Everton attacker Richarlison as an alternative to Hugo Ekitike

Now, there’s one more Premier League side interested in the former Watford man. CBS Journalist Ben Jacobs spoke to The Football Terrace, providing an update on Richarlison. Newcastle United could soon consider a swoop for Richarlison.

The Magpies have been linked with Stade de Reims forward Hugo Ekitike and reportedly had a deal agreed with the Ligue 1 side to acquire the Frenchman for £40 million. Jacobs said that Newcastle could turn their attention to Richarlison if they fail to sign Ekitike.

"He is a player that is available in the market. There are a few clubs currently looking at him. Newcastle United are considering a swoop as well if they don’t get Ekitike. (Ben Jacobs on The Football Terrace)"

Interestingly, 90min have reported today that a deal for Ekitike is off the table as Newcastle have pulled out of the deal as negotiations with the agent over additional fees proved too much and the Magpies walked away from the table. The Toons remain interested in the 20 year old but they will now evaluate other options.

Newcastle are a side with abundant cash this summer so they won’t hesitate to spend upwards of £50 million for Richarlison. If they have pulled out of the Ekitike deal, they will consider Richarlison as suggested by Jacobs.

However, it remains to be seen if the Brazilian attacker will be keen to move to St. James’ Park, especially, when there are clubs in the race who can offer Champions League football to Richarlison.
