If media speculation is correct, at the moment it looks as though Everton star Richarlison is going to move to a London club, either Chelsea or Tottenham. So, assuming this is the case, which of these deals is the best option for the Blues?

Like probably most Everton supporters I would ideally wish to keep the Brazilian at the club, but he does seem determined to move on this summer.

There were rumours Richarlison might be a target for Arsenal but those disappeared quite quickly and it emerged that the Gunners rivals Spurs and Chelsea were the two leading the race.

So, the question for Toffees’ fans then appears to be; which if these two clubs’ would enable Everton to get the best outcome?

Both potential deals, at least according to media reports, would include player swaps alongside a fee so in some respects the decision is which group of potential players moving to Merseyside in exchange for Richarlison.

Rumours regarding Spurs claim they will offer Lucas Moura for his fellow Brazilian Richarlison and possibly Harry Winks, although any deal for Winks seems like it might not be dependent on the Brazil forward going the other way.

Moura is a forward who has seen his chances at Tottenham limited and only played nineteen times in the Premier League, fifteen of which were substitute appearances.

I don’t think Moura is the right sort of player to replace Richarlison as he doesn’t have the goal production and at 29 he’s also in the wrong age bracket as well.

The other possible player swap is Steven Bergwijn. The Dutchman is another forward who has fallen down the pecking order in north London.

Again though, he hasn’t scored many goals although to fair he’s not exactly had a lot of chances recently and like Moura has been mainly used as a substitute.

If Spurs’ aren’t the best bet then what about Chelsea?

The west London club have more potential talent to offer in a player plus cash deal and also of course have the Frank Lampard connection.

In particular, there are several young players that would be a good addition to the current Everton squad.

Midfielder Billy Gilmour has been mentioned and while he had a strong breakthrough initially at Chelsea, but he has not been quite such a success on loan at Norwich last season.

The midfield talent that most Toffees’ fans would be keen on is Conor Gallagher. The 22-year-old had a superb season at Crystal Palace and has been on the wish list of a number of Premier League clubs.

However, there are rumours that the London Blues’ manager Thomas Tuchel may well decide to keep him at Stamford Bridge.

Looking at forward’s the one name being repeatedly linked is Hakim Ziyech. There are though stories he is more probably on his way to Italy.

Another of the Chelsea players to possibly consider might be Christian Pulisic. The American international could be available after not finding a regular place in Chelsea’s team and Lampard knows him having managed him at Stamford Bridge.

He’s a good player and might well benefit from a change of scenery, but I don’t know if Chelsea would be prepared to let Pulisic leave, whether on loan perhaps with an option to buy, or permanently.

Of course, another alternative might be for Everton to try and find another buyer and hope to secure the biggest possible fee for Richarlison from them. Can they afford to do wait very long to do that though?
