Frank Lampard and Everton are in full rebuild mode after a dreadful season and Charles De Ketelaere is a great young prospect to keep an eye on.

Everton is coming off one of their worst seasons ever and faced the threat of relegation late in the season due to issues creating goal scoring opportunities. The club is now in a situation where multiple players could depart to generate funds and still, the financial challenges will continue to raise questions about the summer transfer business.

Everton are a team who needs to invest in youth players and no player has shown more upside than Club de Brugge forward De Ketelaere. Ketelaere is just 21 years old but he’s led his Belgian club to a Champions League appearance and proved he’s ready for Premier League football. According to Daily Mail, Ketelaere has already drawn significant interest from Leicester City and Leeds United. Everton would benefit greatly from joining the race.

Many of the rumours have indicated that Everton are seeking older players who wouldn’t have a resale value in the future such as Hakim Ziyech. De Ketelaere would be a great fit as he is just scratching the surface of his potential and he does not share the injury history of some of the veteran options.

Everton must strongly consider Charles De Ketelaere

De Ketelaere scored 14 goals in his 39 matches for Club Brugge and he assisted on nine more goals. The Belgian attacker has shown upside similar to playmakers like Kevin De Bruyne which make his €30 million price tag hard to pass up.

Everton are a team in significant financial trouble so investing in youth is likely the best option. Bringing in players who can prove themselves on the big stage and have significant resale value will be crucial for Everton moving forward.

De Ketelaere would not just be an investment for the future but he could also be a solution to the goal scoring issues if there’s a departure of superstar Richarlison. De Ketelaere works best as a No.10 but is capable of playing on either flank. Now, is the right time for him to make the jump from the Belgian circuit and come to England.

The Toffees have lacked a presence like Ketelaere’s for some time now. James Rodriguez was one such player who could create and score goals in a bunch. De Ketelaere likes to play behind the striker and drift wide in anticipation of a pass. He’s an amalgamation of a goalscorer and a playmaker which could heavily benefit Everton.

The clock is ticking for Lampard to make a move for De Ketelaere since no reports have indicated an interest quite yet. The rebuilding Toffees will have their hands full rejuvenating this dysfunctional roster and Ketelaere would be a great start.

Do you think Everton should join the bidding for Charles De Ketelaere?
