Anthony Gordon is Everton’s crown jewel

Those who had seen Gordon touch the ball that day knew that the kid is bound to achieve greater heights in the future. Fast forward to today, Gordon has gone from being a sporadic part of the team to being a cornerstone in the frontline. Current manager Frank Lampard has sung poems of Gordon’s immaculate talent and skill. In many ways, Gordon is the crown jewel of Lampard’s Everton.

Last season, the Englishman was a mainstay in the Everton attack, playing 35 Premier League games, scoring four times and assisting another two goals. Out of the 35 games he featured in, he ended up starting more than 70% of those games, a rapid increase in comparison to the 2020-21 season. Thanks to a solid individual season, Gordon won Everton’s player of the season and players’ player of the season award.

Gordon is nowhere close to being a finished product, nor is he on the level of Haalands and Mbappes, but he is destined to reach greater levels of productivity with the right guidance and environment.

Sky Sports reported that Spurs are looking to launch a package deal to secure Richarlison and Gordon. Everton do not want to be pressured into Richarlison’s sale and nor do they intend to let their brightest youngster leave the club. Previously, Gordon has indicated that he’s settled in Merseyside and sees Everton as his home.
