Everton make lucrative personal proposal to £16 million Tottenham man
Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are expected to be in negotiations all summer for a number of players. There’s the chance that Richarlison could go to Spurs whereas Harry Winks or Steven Bergwijn could change North London for Merseyside this summer. Everton does not want to sell Richarlison unless absolutely necessary.
The Brazilian has become a mainstay in the Everton side and a separation cannot be imagined. The supporters love Richarlison and the 25 year old has always shown commitment and passion toward the club. It is understandable that the Toffees are in no place to offer Champions League football whereas the likes of Chelsea and Spurs can not only offer Champions League football but also offer him the chance to compete for titles.
A lot of reports have indicated that the North Londoners will soon launch an offer for the former Watford man. Previously, Everton have indicated that they will not entertain any offers for Richarlison that are below £60 million – £65 million. In case Richarlison departs and Everton receives a huge sum of money, Frank Lampard will not waste time utilizing the funds to upgrade the squad.
The Merseysiders will even need a winger who would replace Richarlison in the lineup. Everton are not looking beyond Spurs at the moment as Bergwijn remains a target for the Royal Blues. Ajax and Everton had shown interest in the 24 year old and it now appears that Everton may have a slight edge in the race to sign the Dutchman.
Everton make a personal proposal to Steven Bergwijn
According to 90min, Everton are hopeful of beating Ajax to the signing of Bergwijn. The former PSV man has made it clear that he will leave Tottenham this summer and it was all but certain that Ajax will be successful in getting his signature.
The Royal Blues have now offered a lucrative offer to Bergwijn which is much better in financial aspects compared to Ajax’s offer. The Dutch giants can offer Champions League football next season but the player is considering the offer from Everton.
As per Voetbal International (via Sport Witness), Everton are serious contenders to sign the 24 year old this summer. Bergwijn can be a direct replacement to Richarlison. The winger has the ability to deceive his opponents with pace and use his directness to get in front of the goal.
As a winger, you’d expect him to stay wide, hugging the touchline but Bergwijn often drops inside to receive the ball and progress forward. Everton can get much more out of him if he’s used in proper manner.
His market value is just over £16 million as per Transfermarkt and Everton will have to negotiate a transfer with Spurs but given that player wants to leave, Everton may get away with a low ball offer.
