Everton sanctioned the sale of Richarlison before the end of June in order to avoid any FFP or Profit and Sustainability rules complications. Now, with Ricahrlison gone, the Toffees are not wasting any time in scouting for his replacement. The Toffees view El Bilal Toure as a potential replacement.
The Toffees will receive a £50 million guaranteed sum from Tottenham and another possible £10 million in add-ons, taking the cost of the deal to £60 million. The player will leave after his four year association with the Toffees and during the four seasons, he was an unquestionable starter in the team.
Replacing him won’t be an easy task and the Toffees should not rush into making any decision. There is plenty of time left in the summer transfer window to scout and evaluate players who could be potential Richarlison replacements. It is unlikely that Everton will be spending all the £60 million on signing the Brazilian’s replacement as other areas need to be strengthened as well.
With Richarlison’s sale, it is almost certain that Everton will not be forced to sell Dominic Calvert-Lewin and the striker can continue to be Everton’s main man in the frontline. The Toffees have been looking at a replacement and they seem to have reached France in their quest.
Everton eye El Bilal Toure as a potential replacement to Richarlison
According to 90min, the Royal Blues are considering Stade Reims forward El Bilal Toure in a bid to replace Richarlison who is Tottenham bound. Toure joined Stade Reims from Afrique Football Elite academy in 2020. The 20 year old has sparkled for the French team ever since, making 64 appearances for the club, scoring nine goals and providing five assists.
Toure made 21 appearances last season, netting twice and assisting four goals throughout the campaign. Back in 2020, when was a hot prospect in the European circles with clubs like Napoli, Ajax, Red Bull Salzburg and Monaco fighting for his signature, but in the end, it was Stade Reims who secured his services.
The Malian idolizes Cristiano Ronaldo and dreams of reaching the heights that his idol has reached. Toure can be described as a modern day forward who is able to hold up the ball well and also run behind the last lines of defence. He is able to operate on either wing and has the knack of dropping inside instead of hugging the touchline.
He’s valued at just £5.85 million by the Transfermarkt and if Everton are actually planning to sign him, they will get him for a modest fee. However, it is worth noting that Toure is still in the embryonic stages and not at the level of Richarlison. He still needs a lot of polishing but in Toure Everton will have an exciting youngster in the ranks.
