The links between Everton and their liking for Chelsea players are increasing with each passing day. With the departure of Richarlison, Everton does need a forward and Frank Lampard is keen to bring Armando Broja from Chelsea.

The Toffees registered an interest in the Albanian striker but face competition from the likes of West Ham United and Newcastle United. The Cobham academy graduate spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Southampton, where he started 21 out of 32 Premier League games and scored six times. In total, he played 38 games and found the back of the net on nine occasions.

His future at Stamford Bridge is up in the air and discussions have already taken place between Thomas Tuchel and new owner Todd Boehly regarding Broja’s future. Broja has a market value of £20 million as per Transfermarkt but Chelsea value their 20 year old forward at £30 million.

Previously, it was reported that West Ham wants to ramp up the talks for the Albania international and are ready to match the £30 million valuation. However, reports from Italy suggest that West Ham are also looking for another striker.

Everton could be handed a boost in chase of Chelsea striker Armando Broja

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca is attracting interest from Premier League side West Ham. In fact, the Hammers have already submitted their first offer for the Italian which is around £34 million. The two clubs are now discussing bonuses and there’s a possibility that West Ham might beat PSG in the chase.

The Paris club made an offer of £25 million plus £4 million in bonuses which is short of West Ham’s latest offer. If the Irons succeed in signing the 23 year old Sassuolo man, they might not actively pursue Broja.

In such a scenario, Everton might have a slight advantage in bringing the Chelsea striker to Goodison Park. The Toffees are in search of a replacement for Richarlison who left last month for a fee of £60 million, an important sum that will help the club balance the financial books.

Now, Broja is very similar to Richarlison. His tall figure gives him an edge in the air and works very hard off the ball. He is industrious and contributes to pressing and performs his defensive duties. The 20 year old is not exactly someone who can create chances but he’ll be there to score them.

Even Newcastle are chasing Alexander Isak which means they could withdraw their interest in Dominic Calvert-Lewin as well as Toffees target Broja. Everton will have to convince Chelsea in selling the striker and that is where someone like Lampard could play a key role.
