Wolves have revealed the fee they want for winger Adama Traore as Everton continue to be linked with a move for the 26-year-old. So, is he worth a punt at £10 million?

Everton still haven’t replaced Richarlison since his move to Tottenham and Traore has been one of several names mooted in the media as a possible forward option for Frank Lampard to consider.

The Spanish international has finished a loan spell at Barcelona and returned to Molinuex after the Catalan giants decided against extending his loan or making his move permanent.

That fact would obviously be a consideration for any club looking at him. As is the reality that Wolves are prepared to sell a player for a relatively small fee who just a few seasons back was considered one of the most dangerous forwards in the Premier League.

In the 2019-20 campaign he notched four goals and an impressive nine assists in the Premier League as Wolves qualified for Europe.

At that time there were several ‘top’ clubs alledgedly interested in him, including Liverpool, who might even have been close to agreeing a deal for the pacey forward.

As it was he stayed at Wolves and his attacking contribution to the team declined leading the Midlands club to agree to sending him back on loan to his first club Barcelona last season.

Traore’s record is certainly then a mixed and inconsistent one and his recent form in particular wouldn’t seem to make him as attractive a potential signing as he once was.

On the other hand he certainly does have the pace, power and ability to carry the ball, which the Toffees’ have so often lacked throughout their team.

Everton are though it seems more interested in pursuing his team mate at Wolves; Morgan Gibbs-White. With stories claiming the Blues’ have already had one bid for the young Englishman turned down and may go back in with another offer.

Of the two Wolves players, I would be more inclined to bring in Gibbs-White (provided it was not a ridiculous fee) as he is young and has genuine potential while also offering greater end product, especially goals.

Will Everton end up signing either of these players? At the moment no deals seem likely, and I wouldn’t imagine we will see anything concrete concluded before the squad get back from their pre-season tour of the States.
