Everton manager Frank Lampard has indicated that Anthony Gordon is a part of his future plans despite rumors that the academy gem could leave amidst interest from Chelsea and Newcastle United.

Everton are off to a bad start in the Premier League with two straight losses. The team has faced adversity both tactically and financially so this summer was a period of change for the toffees.

The club has already sold a  fan favorite, Richarlison, and now Dele Alli is headed out the door as well. Luckily for fans at Meyerside, the summer has not brought solely bad news. The team has signed some new talent to help regain their form but can the club hold on to one of their home grown superstars?

Everton want to keep Anthony Gordon

Anthony Gordon is a 21-year old winger who has grown in the Everton academy since he was a young boy. He joined the club as an 11-year old with dreams of becoming a Premier League superstar and ten years later the English giants, mainly Chelsea are offering millions of pounds for his services.

Last season was Gordon’s opportunity to really prove his worth and he showed up big time with four goals and two assists in just 25 starts. Gordon also came in as a substitute for 10 more matches but he is poised for an even bigger role should he stay at Meyerside.

Chelsea have been pushing to sign Anthony Gordon and their latest offer of £45 million was rejected.

The question still remains whether or not Anthony Gordon is for sale and what price would Everton be willing to accept to part ways with one of their own. Lampard has indicated, according to The Northern Echo, that he would like to keep his young winger as part of the future but if a large enough bid comes through that it is no longer in his control.

The asking price for Gordon likely sits around the £50 million mark and many will argue that figure is too high for an unproven player with only one year of quality play time.

More updates are to come as the season gets underway and the transfer window nears its close. Do you think Anthony Gordon will stay in town?
