It goes without saying that Everton have worked hard and worked smart in the summer transfer market to upgrade the squad. Yet, the attack does struggle in games and not enough chances are being created. To solve this issue, Everton are eyeing a move for Daichi Kamada of Eintracht Frankfurt.

The defence and midfield saw a major revamp over the summer with the arrivals of James Tarkowski, Conor Coady and Ruben Vinagre in the backline. In the engine room, the signings of Amadou Onana, Idrissa Gueye and James Garner are making an impact in their own fashion. Frank Lampard’s side have struggled in conjure up attacks in a few games and looked toothless.

In games against Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, Everton failed to create proper goalscoring chances and were sterile in the attack. Alex Iwobi remains Everton’s most creative player and has outrageous stats to support his case.

At times the midfield needs to provide goalscoring support to the attackers and create chances from the middle of the park. While Iwobi enjoys all the space he gets, in cagey games, there isn’t any supporting act from Onana or any of the wingers.

Everton interested in Eintracht Frankfurt player Daichi Kamada

Everton will look to upgrade the squad further in the winter transfer window or the subsequent transfer windows if the opportunity presents itself. According to Forbes, Frankfurt midfielder Kamada is a transfer target for a number of sides, with Everton being one of the many interested parties.

Kamada has been the star of the season for Frankfurt, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in 11 Bundesliga games. The Japanese international has been outstanding all season and has sparkled from a variety of positions, carrying out different roles. The 26 year old has played in the central midfield, as an attacking midfielder and also as a left winger.

With versatility being one of his strongest traits, Kamada has a lot to offer to any team he plays in. Eintracht Frankfurt would desperately hope to keep Kamada but the Japanese’s contract runs out next summer, making him a very attractive player in the transfer market.

Last summer, Benifca had an offer for the playmaker but Frankfurt rejected the offer. With impressive performances piling up, more and more teams could get interested. Kamada has a market value of £20 million but if a contract extension isn’t signed soon, Frankfurt may be forced to let him go for a modest fee in January, to avoid the risk of losing him on a free transfer.

Everton will have the liberty to discuss a pre-contract agreement on January 1, 2023. However, there will be a number of suitors waiting with offers for the 26 year old. Eintracht Frankfurt have proposed a new offer but there hasn’t been any response or progress from Kamada’s camp.
