Everton have just three days to make new signings and strengthen the squad as they prepare for an uphill battle to secure Premier League safety. Sean Dyche is set to take over the reins at Goodison Park and has already started working on transfers. Newcastle United winger Ryan Fraser seems to be on his shortlist.

Dyche will have a significant sum to spend in January, thanks to the £40 million sale of Anthony Gordon to Newcastle United. The 21 year old had been pushing for a move and Newcastle were quick to reach an agreement with the Toffees. Gordon has struggled this season and getting £40 million for him could be adjudged as a piece of excellent transfer business.

Everton need to sign a forward as well as a winger, now that Gordon has left the club. A number of wingers have been linked in the last few days. There have been some updates in the chase of Hakim Ziyech, Tete and Kamaldeen Sulemana as these names have surfaced again after Dyche’s appointment.

EFC have just three wingers in their roster out of which Andros Townsend is still sidelined as he recovers from the cruciate ligament injury he suffered last year. Dwight McNeil and Demarai Gray are the only fit wingers and more depth needs to be added to the flanks.

Everton boss Sean Dyche has Ryan Fraser on his wishlist

Dyche has been evaluating the squad and looking at the players he could incorporate into his system at Everton. According to 90min, Newcastle United winger Fraser is on Dyche’s list of potential targets.

The Scottish winger has seen his role drastically reduce as the likes of Miguel Almiron have taken on the role of the protagonist. In fact, Fraser is free to leave the Magpies in the summer and has suitors in England. A few days back, a report emerged that he was offered to Everton.

There were no indications of Fraser being involved as a part of the deal for Gordon, who has just arrived at St James’ Park. With Gordon arriving at Newcastle, competition on the flanks is set to intensify even further. This could leave Fraser with even more limited game time and he could push for a move in the last three days of a window.

Now that Everton have successfully sold Gordon to Newcastle, they could open the negotiations channel once again for Fraser. Perhaps, a loan deal might be explored rather than a permanent deal. Fraser will surely add depth and give Dyche multiple options.

In Dyche’s system, wingers are often told to focus on pin-point crossing and getting balls into the box, so that the towering forwards can attack. Fraser is an efficient crosser of the ball, which would work well in Dyche’s system.
