Everton are in for a crazy and hetic next few days with Sean Dyche’s appointment to be surely confirmed today and player transfer rumours galore.

This club increasingly resembles a slightly embarassing soap opera with endless drama and nothing seemingly done in a simple or straightforward way. Everton always seem to prefer to take the difficult path.

As I’ve mentioned several times now, we are still waiting for Dyche to be officially confirmed as the new Toffees’ manager. Meanwhile the stories of players who might be joining the club in the next 48 hours or so is becoming ever more frenzied.

The latest slightly wild rumour has Everton tracking one of the Belgian Hazard brothers. It’s not Eden who was such a star in the Premier League with Chelsea, instead it’s Thorgen, his brother who plays in Germany with Borussia Dortmund.

This has come from a journalistic source on Twitter so I’m not sure how much store we should put in it’s varacity.

At any rate, according to Nicolo Schira, the Toffees’ are interested in taking Thorgen Hazard, presumably for the rest of the season.

Eden’s less well known brother has been plying his trade in German football for most of his career and while he has been a consistent performer in the past, the Belgian has fallen down the pecking order this season.

He’s only played fourteen games in the Bundesliga, although only two were starts. So, it’s possible that Dortmund might well be willing to let him leave.

I don’t think Hazard is a player who would suit Everton even if such an unlikely transfer were to be possible and the club and new manager Dyche should be actually confirmed as manager in time for him to make a few signings before the end of Tuesday night!

There are other potential options such as Coventry City’s Viktor Gyokeres who would make a far more sensible and realistic target.
