Everton have £38 million striker duo on top of their shortlist
Everton are proactively working on transfers before the winter transfer window slams shut on 31st January 11 PM. Signing forwards is a priority and Everton are looking at Viktor Gykoeres and Che Adams as top transfer targets.
Everton have announced Sean Dyche as the new manager after Frank Lampard was sacked last week. It is understood that Dyche is already working on transfers and wants to strengthen the squad that he is inheriting. Signing a forward has always been a priority for the Toffees but they have had no success in January in getting a deal over the line.
With Dyche’s arrival, EFC are hoping that their fortunes could change and deals could be fast tracked as less than 36 hours remain for the transfer window to close. Dyche and Everton will have significant money to spend as Anthony Gordon has joined Newcastle United for a fee of £40 million which could rise to £45 million.
The money earned through the sale can be reinvested to sign attacking options as EFC aim to survive a brutal relegation battle and come out of it alive. The Toffees already have a number of striking targets that they will try to sign before the end of the transfer window.
Che Adams and Viktor Gyokeres are top Everton targets
Coventry City striker Gyokeres has been on Everton’s list for a while. Recently, a report stated that Everton manager Dyche views Gyokeres as a solid option to bolster the attack. Coventry have slapped an £18 million price tag on the Swedish international.
Southampton striker Che Adams has also been on the radar for a while now. He was linked to the Toffees in the summer but a move didn’t materialize and they ended up signing Neal Maupay from Brighton. Adams is back on EFC’s list and Everton could try and sign the Scottish striker.
According to Football Insider, Everton are in talks with Gyokeres and are eyeing two attacking options in the transfer market. Gyokeres and Adams are Everton’s top transfer targets and so far they seem to be making some progress with Gyokeres.
The Merseysiders had sent scouts to Coventry City’s game against Huddersfield where Coventry won 2-0. Gyokeres did not score but assisted both the goals and took his assist tally to four goals. The 24 year old now has 12 goals and four assists in 28 Championship games.
As for Adams chase, Saints are not too keen to sell the 26 year old but Southampton could change their stance if they succeed in signing Kamaldeen Sulemana, who is also a target for Everton. Adams is valued at £19.3 million and the Saints will be looking to get a deal in that region if they decide to sell the forward.
